Purchase your ticket in advance and pay a maximum price of 25 euro instead of 28 euros during the exhibition. The multi-lingual audioguide, in adult and children’s format, is included in the ticket purchase.
You purchase your tickets for a visit to the museum at a designated time. An average visit to the exhibition lasts about 1,5 hours, but you are free to discover the art at your own pace. Once you exit the exhibition, however, you can’t re-enter with the same ticket. The audioguide is available in eight languages: Dutch, French, German, English, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Japanese. the childeren’s audioguide is available in Dutch, French, Gemran and English. The audioguides are included in your ticket. There are also tickets available at discounted rates of 22, 15, 5 and 2 euros. In the event that you purchase a discounted rate, you must be able to present the proof of this to the reception. You can also purchase a ticket at the reception desk in the MSK or in the Stadswinkel (under the Belfrey).
Exclusive ‘Van Eyck’ Evenings
Enjoy a unique ‘Evening with Van Eyck’ reception or a walking ‘Dinner with Van Eyck’ before, during or after your visit to the exhibition. On 29 January 2020, you can partake in an even more exclusive advance opening with walking dinner. And, all of this in a unique setting within the heart of the museum.
The evenings run from 19.00 until 23.00. Arrival is possible between 19.00 and 22.00. The price for the exclusive advance opening on 29 January is 195 euros. For the ‘Evening with Van Eyck’ reception on Saturday, 15 February, the cost is 95 euros. For the walking ‘Dinner with Van Eyck’ on Saturday, 29 February or Saturday, 14 March, the cost is 125 euros. The admission ticket (and audioguide) for the ‘Van Eyck’ exhibition are of course included for each event.
Combination Ticket ‘Van Eyck’ and ‘Kleureyck’
Combine ‘Van Eyck’ in the MSK with a visit to ‘Kleureyck’ in the Design Museum of Ghent on a day of your choice, beginning 13.03.2019 until the end of the ‘Kleureyck’ exhibition.
With the combination ticket, you can visit the ‘Kleureyck’ in the Design Museum of Ghent in addition to ‘Van Eyck. An Optical Revolution’ in the MSK Ghent. You are free to choose which day you visit the exhibition in the Design Museum. The ‘Kleureyck’ exhibition, on the exceptional use of colour by Jan van Eyck, runs from 13.03 until 06.09.2020.
Plan your group visit
Group visit with a guide
Every day you can book guides during certain time periods for groups of up to 20 people. The guided tours are available in Dutch, French, English or German. The price for a guide is 100 euros.
Only official guides are allowed, so don’t wait too long! A visit with a guide lasts about 1,5 hours. The usage of the soundproof headphones is also included, which guarantees that you can understand the guide properly during the entire visit.
School visit without a guide
Every Tuesday and Thursday we reserve ‘Van Eyck. An Optical Revolution’ for schools until 10.30. The audioguide, in child’s format, is included in the ticket. You can also book a guide for schools. finally, in the near future you will be able to also download an inspiration packet that brings the exhibiton into the classroom.
An average visit to the exhibition lasts 1,5 hours. This offer is valid for every recognised educational institution, regardless of age group. Chaperons receive free access and do not need to purchase a ticket. Can’t you come on a Tuesday or Thursday? Then you can always plan a visit on another day. Take into account, however, that you will be navigating your group amongst the regular museum visitors.
School visit with a guide
Every Tuesday and Thursday morning you can book a school visit also with a guide. For groups of 22, one guide is reserved. The price for the guide costs 80 euros on these mornings.
A visit with a guide lasts about 1,5 hours for higher education and 1 hour for lower and secondary education. Chaperons with school groups receive free access and do not need to purchase a ticket. Does it not work to come on a Tuesday or Thursday? Then you can naturally always plan a visit on another day, with a guide at the cost of 100 euros.
Exclusive ‘Van Eyck’ evenings with guide
You can also possible to book a guide during the exclusive evenings during certain time periods. The additional price for a guide is 100 euros.
A visit with a guide lasts about 1,5 hours. The use of the soundproof headphones is included, which guarantees that you can properly understand the guide. You have free access to the museum from 19.00 until 23.00, but be sure to be present for the start of your tour.

Corporate visit and evenings
Organise a private evening in the museum, or register for one of the exclusive evenings with an ‘Evening with Van Eyck’ reception or a walking ‘Dinner with Van Eyck.’ Group arrangements with breakfast, lunch or dinner are also possible. We’re happy to help you find the ideal unique ‘Van Eyck’ experience!
MSK offers the possibility to organise your own evening event (max. 550 people) during the exhibition. Our in-house caterer will gladly provide you with a customised formula. You can also register a group for one of the public evenings with a reception or walking dinner, giving you the opportunity to visit the exhibition in an intimate setting with an audioguide or experienced guide, combined with a networking moment or corporate activity in the museum forum or auditorium. The group arrangements with breakfast, lunch or dinner are possible thanks to the collaboration between MSK and MuB’art, which is expanding their facilities with 60 extra seats during the Van Eyck exhibition.
